Description:
It was great to collaborate with GorillaGorilla again. This time it was on a film for BBC Stories. The project involved repurposing stock footage with animated motion graphics to bring the script to life. The tone was crucial, as it needed to convey the seriousness of the report without coming across as too bleak or overly hopeful.
PROCESS
The process began with a set of concept designs, exploring how the film could combine stock footage with motion graphics in a way that felt cohesive and visually engaging. Those initial designs remained largely consistent through to the final piece.
From there, I focused on sourcing stock footage that would support the narrative and complement the visual language established in the concepts.
The collaboration with the team at GorillaGorilla was a real pleasure throughout, and they brought everything together from the script to the sound design to complete the film.
The film went on to win ‘Best Animation’ at DataComm Awards 2025 - which is pretty cool.
