TITLE: Hostages

BRIEF:
Comedy Director Jim Owen enlisted our expertise to design the Main Titles and all phone and social media graphics featured in the film. We aimed for authenticity in our social graphics, sparking the inspiration for the title sequence and credit introductions.
PROCESS:
We worked closely with Jim throughout the process of developing the titles and the graphics. Jim had an extensive list of moments that featured within the script when he needed to see what was on Charlie’s phone. The designs ranged from in phone to full screen and we needed to provide the animation to work within the edit. We created over 100 different graphic shots and sequences that feature throughout the film and a number that don’t.
The main title concept originated from our initial meeting, during which we discussed the amusement of misspelling names and subsequently correcting them, or the common occurrence of predictive text suggesting the wrong word.
