PROCESS
Kaptcha’s film director Richard Cousins approached us to work with him in creating a film where Digital Intelligence employees could narrate a story of the important work they do in Space. He’d seen a film we’d created called “Tomorrow’s World’ and wondered if we’d be able to do something similar with this film. Obviously, we jumped at the chance. Who doesn’t want to work in Space?
Shot in an entirely blacked-out studio, with carefully choreographed lighting we developed a visual style for Space and the objects orbiting. We wanted the people in the film to view their work in a sort of holographic art gallery.
There were two distinctive elements we had to create. Space with all the planets and orbiting Satellites and then there were screens we needed to construct that would play filmed assets. The holographic concept was introduced in order to see the participants and make sure the elements, they were viewing did not obscure them. Everything had to exist within a blacked-out space and so light within the motion graphics and the lighting on the shoot were critical to bringing this vision to life.
